Anu Muralidharan is the Chief Operating Officer at Expensify, the most widely-used receipt tracking and expense management app. Anu joined the company in 2015 and since then has worked to increase productivity and optimize processes across the company. Prior to Expensify, she was the vice president of business development at Marqeta and before that held multiple senior positions with Citi including vice president, loyalty partnerships and vice president, Citi cards strategy. Anu began her career as an applications engineer for Oracle.
An engineer at heart, Anu has been an exceptional contributor to Expensify bringing her experience in banking operations. She quickly grew into a company leader and joined the executive team in 2019 overseeing engineering with particular focus on fraud and compliance. Anu earned her MBA from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and her bachelor’s degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
Anu joined Expensify 4-5 years ago as a subject matter expert – a very strong individual contributor who brought a background in banking operations to our team. She has since grown into a company leader, and joined our executive team at the beginning of 2019. She’s managed our Engineering Operations team, overseen our Fraud and Compliance divisions, and is currently involved in leading up a major product, which we’ll be launching next week. On top of her operational strengths, Anu is a great colleague – she’s a bright presence in our office, participates in all social activities, and always solves problems with a level head.
