With more than 20 years in progressively challenging senior HR leadership roles in privately held, start-up technology companies and high-growth, publicly-traded, mid-size organizations, Cathy Guthrie has found her “home” at Cosential where she has been able to marry her love for growing businesses with her passion for creating people-centric work environments where employees can thrive. In her role as SVP of Human Resources, she’s partnered with the CEO and leadership team over the past year to double the company’s headcount while delivering new systems, processes, training, compliance, and Table Group consulting to ensure clarity of vision, values, and goals throughout the organization.
Prior to her current appointment, she escalated in senior human relations roles from Handango to TXU/Luminant, ExamSoft Worldwide, Energy Transfer, USA Compression, SpareFoot, and AlienVault. Not long before her appointment at Cosential, Guthrie established Guthrie Consulting Group where she leverages her experience towards growing entrepreneurial organizations. She holds both roles concurrently. Guthrie received a Master of Science degree in educational and human resource development at Texas A&M University.
Cathy is both a solid business partner and leading champion to Cosential’s strong culture and employee satisfaction. She has been instrumental in helping Cosential win numerous awards as a Best Place to Work in the Austin area. She and her team led Cosential through the challenging COVID-19 pandemic that saw Cosential shift from nearly 100% in the office to 100% remote work. Cathy has been our guiding force in driving diversity and inclusion both within Cosential and in our surrounding community. She is fun to work with and very approachable by any employee in the organization.
