General Motors Elevates Baris Cetinok and Dave Richardson to Lead the Software and Services Division

GM has reaffirmed its commitment to developing electrified, driverless, and connected vehicles by appointing Baris Cetinok and Dave Richardson to lead its Software and Services business. Since joining GM in September 2023, Cetinok and Richardson have played key roles in enhancing vehicle operating systems, improving quality testing processes, and integrating software into customer experiences. GM CEO Mary Barra commended their leadership and technical expertise, emphasizing their contributions to GM’s software engineering and product management strategies. Cetinok, as Senior Vice President of Software and Services Product Management, Program Management, and Design, will oversee GM’s software roadmap and development processes and continued improvement. On the other hand, Richardson, as Senior Vice President of Software and Services Engineering, expands his role to include oversight of embedded platforms, digital products, commercial solutions, and ADAS.

Their promotions follow the departure of Mike Abbott in March 2024, with Cetinok and Richardson set to work from GM’s new Mountain View Technical Center in California.
