Founded by Michael Cowpland in 1985 as a research laboratory, Corel achieved great success early in its journey amid the high-tech boom of the 1990s with its flagship product CorelDRAW, becoming the largest software company in Canada. The company later expanded with major offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Taiwan, China, and Japan. Its products are available around the world through a well-established network of international resellers, retailers, original equipment manufacturers, online providers and on its websites. Corel’s stellar product line includes CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Painter, Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite, PaintShop Pro, VideoStudio, WinDVD, WordPerfect Office, and WinZip.

Also in its extensive stable of products are Corel KnockOut, Corel Paint It! Touch, Corel Photo Album, Corel Photo-Paint, Corel SnapFire, and CorelCAD. Last month, the company purchased Awingu, a provider of secure remote access technology, and will integrate it into its Parallels brand portfolio.
