Imply provides a suite of tools to run large-scale analytic workloads. Built by the original authors of the Apache Druid database, Imply allows clients to analyze user activity data, digital media logs, network flows, server metrics, application logs and store, query, and visualize event-driven data.

The company’s platform has been adopted by some of the world’s largest companies. More than 100 enterprise (including Plaid and Cisco ThousandEyes) and digital-native customers use Imply as the engine for analytics-powered applications that they build, and/or as a complete solution to directly solve internal BI and operational analytics use cases. The platform is available in multiple forms. Customers can access it as a cloud service, a self-hosted software in the cloud, and as on-premise software.

Imply was founded in 2015 and is backed by leading Silicon Valley venture capital firms including Andreessen Horowitz and Khosla Ventures. With the market opportunity for big data analytics seeing expansion, the company continues to attract the attention of even more investors. In June 2021 Imply announced the closing of a $70 million Series C, bringing total funding to over $116 million. Headquartered in California, Imply has operations in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Key Products

Imply Pivot

This multi-cloud, full-stack data platform is built on open-source OLAP database Apache Druid. Its visualization capabilities are completely interactive and support information drill downs, with real-time updates on incoming data. Pivot also functions as an alert system for custom-defined alterations of data, and gives users the tool to create sharable drag-and-drop dashboards or data cubes.

Imply Manager

The perfect visual interface for managing and deploying Imply clusters, Imply Manager can get the job done in just a few clicks. Administrators can view cluster status on version updates (which avoid downtime) and troubleshoot for any problems with full insight into deployment processes. This interface can be launched in any sort of environment, be it public cloud, Kubernetes, or bare metal.

Imply Clarity

This tool lives up to its namesake by providing an all-encompassing picture of the customer experience without including superfluous information. Tracking behaviors gives administrators an inside look at the actual functionality of clusters and helps point out bottlenecks. Imply Clarity’s dashboard displays aggregate metrics that break down the essential takeaways of an entire website’s traffic. The tool also highlights critical Druid metrics.

Imply Cloud

This managed service for AWS lets users visualize and explore scaled-up activity streams without the benefit of native infrastructure. Imply Cloud deploys nodes in virtual private cloud environments running in AWS accounts. Its engine is built on Apache Druid for quick, resource-efficient query response. This service can connect to existing stacks, including AWS S3, JDBC, Kafka, and AWS Kinesis. Users can send out non-intrusive rolling updates or manage clusters with one simple point and click.
