For more than 30 years, SonicWall has been at the forefront of cybersecurity. Founded in 1991 under the name “Sonic Systems,” the company offers award-winning real-time breach detection and prevention solutions, coupled with the formidable resources of more than 17,000 active SonicWall partners. Its client base includes service providers, data centers, large distributed enterprises, and government agencies. Originally a private company headquartered in Silicon Valley, the company was acquired by Dell in 2012, before being sold to its current owners: the private equity firm Francisco Partners and hedge fund Elliott Management.

Despite a difficult economic climate, the company posted strong financial results for 2021, including a 33% increase in new customer growth. Meanwhile, its cloud-delivered products and services are up 36% year-over-year. Also in 2021, Frost & Sullivan awarded SonicWall with its annual Global Competitive Strategy Leadership Award.
