SPS Commerce was founded in 2001 with the mission to optimize supply chain operations for retail partners around the globe. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, SPS provides cloud-based supply chain management software to retailers, suppliers, third-party logistics providers, and partners. While customers were traditionally served by on-premise software providers, SPS pioneered cloud-based electronic data interchange (EDI). Meanwhile, as evolution in retail continues to fuel the need for automation, the company serves its trading partners with a comprehensive suite of software solutions. Key features include order management, status tracking, invoice management, and search functionality. To date, more than 105,000 companies in various fields have chosen SPS as their retail network.

The company went public on the Nasdaq in April 2010.
