  1. Adam Miller is the Founder & CEO of Cornerstone (NASDAQ: CSOD). He started Cornerstone in 1999 in his one-bedroom apartment to help people realize their potential. Prior to founding Cornerstone, Mr. Miller served time as an investment banker and consultant. He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a BS from its Wharton School of Business, a JD from the UCLA School of Law, an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Business, and has both CPA and Series 7 certifications. Adam maintains a fervent entrepreneurial spirit that was born when he founded Cornerstone as one of the first-ever solutions built in the cloud in 1999. He built the company with the mission to educate the world and has not strayed from that mission ever since. Through his hands-on approach to leadership and product development, the company has seen tremendous growth in the 20 years. Cornerstone is now a $550M company (in a $50B addressable market), which serves more than 3,600 organizations from around the world, with more than 40 million global users. Adam’s openness when it comes to communication stands out to me as a strength as a leader of a public company. In his quarterly “state of the company” addresses, he spends two hours going through various aspects of the business – financial stats, technology and product updates, and our future trajectory – and his favorite part of the All Hands meetings is when he open the mic up for employee Q&A. He makes an effort to listen to employees, address their concerns and proactively communicate changes that are happening within the company. As a communications professional myself, I’m often impressed by his ability to approach tough conversations with empathy. In order to fulfill his vision, Adam is committed to philanthropic efforts and is the chairman of the Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, which focuses on education, workforce development and disaster relief. He is also a founding Board Member of LA-Tech.org, a non-profit group of LA-based tech CEOs who are fervent about building up the technology ecosystem in Los Angeles. He is also on the board of Team Rubicon and IKAR. His commitment to others creates a company culture that strives to promote social good and encourages people to be active citizens. As such, the company has been recognized as a Great Place to Work by Fortune and recently was recognized as the #1 best company to work for in Los Angeles by Built In LA. Moreover, Adam’s commitment to diversity and inclusion contributed to his place on Comparably’s recent Best CEOs for Women list. Cornerstone is proud to report that two out of every three employees represent a unique group (based on race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation) and one-third of leaders at Cornerstone are women. Adam is a servant leader whose main goal is to provide development opportunities for over 2,000 employees at Cornerstone as well as the 40+ million people that use its platform.
