Eran Ben-Shushan is the CEO and Co-Founder of Bizzabo, an all-in-one event success platform. Eran is the consummate high growth executive with a self-discipline one might find in someone with a military background; in fact Eran had previously been in the Israeli Air Force where he rose through the ranks. Yet operational skill is only part of the story, Eran is a great communicator and has been known to give inspiring talks on the vision for Bizzabo as well as the company’s mission. He also genuinely cares for each employee, making himself equally available at both company locations in New York and Tel Aviv.
Launched in 2012, Bizzabo provides event organization solutions through the cloud, which conference organizers can use to create websites, market their events, sell tickets, and execute other event related tasks. Under Eran’s leadership, Bizzabo has attracted thousands of clients across the globe. Before co-founding the company, Eran served as the CEO of the Rosh-Pina Convention, and he was a team leader and systems engineer at Elbit Systems. He served in the Israeli Air Force for 9 years achieving the rank of Major. He was educated at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, where he graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s in business and entrepreneurship.
Eran is a Bizzabo role model when it comes to living the cultural values of this company (we care, we are humble, we are better together, we dare, we choose excellence, we own it, we smile, we are honest). The first day I entered the Bizzabo office I was in the second round of the interview process. Within minutes I was greeted by Eran and offered coffee/water. This was not an experience where Eran pushed off the task to some other employee, Eran physically went and got some water for me. I’ve been in multiple companies and I still have yet to hear any CEO putting effort towards a potential candidate like that. Fast forward a few more weeks I got the job and Eran still does this for everyone he encounters during the interview process. This of course doesn’t mean he gets to everyone, but this is the example Eran leads and the level of importance he puts towards being a welcoming company. Put the “less business focused” values aside and Eran will show how important communications and business transparency is for the entire company. When things are bad, its acknowledged with an action plan and reassurance the company can move forward. When they’re good, projects and milestones are celebrated. Always around for advice and wiling to make time for every employee, Eran is a pleasure to work with.
PEOPLE-CENTRIC! Eran as a co-founder and CEO is still at the same time very personable and relatable to his employees, always on-hands with anything he does. He understands all aspects of the business and is there to help cross-departmentally as often as he can. Eran has the unique ability to be super serious and a top professional at anything he does, yet be funny, open, helpful and always ready to give you a hand no matter how busy he is with his own problems. This makes him a real “people magnet”, some one I would be always happy to work with. I am sure he is on the way to a great success, no matter what he chooses to do.
Compassion: Eran says that we are a people company first, because without smart, and motivated people our product and customer service will suffer. In this regard, Eran leads by example. He demonstrates compassion to his employees, visitors to the office, and even competitors. Vision: Eran has lead Bizzabo through some challenging times to a point where we are recognized as an industry leader, beating billion dollar companies in terms of sales, industry awards, and recruitment. This is thanks to his ability to anticipate future trends, and to motivate others to take action quickly.
Working at any company, but especially a fast growth SaaS company, building alignment and passion around a common vision is essential. It motivates and inspires and brings out the best in everyone committed to achieving the same vision. Eran does this better than most CEOs – and I’ve worked directly under and for many CEOs at LiveIntent, Trulia and Zillow and Eran does this as well as anyone. Eran also has the highest standards in who we hire and clear understanding that talent is what will allow us to dominate the market.

Everything? Bizzabo is comprised of people who own it and this all starts at the top. From guiding our product roadmap to establishing the company’s vision to going out of the way to make sure that people are heard and feel heard Eran exemplifies the kind of leader who truly owns what it means to be one. He cares about the company and the people who work there. Even when he’s busily running from one meeting to the next, he’ll take the time to ask you about your day.
Eran is extremely values-oriented. He believes that investing in your people and providing them with constant challenges and room for growth, will result in a better company culture, product and drive greater revenue growth. I have been at Bizzabo for one year and have only seen one person leave. Why? Because regardless of if you’ve been here for 1-5 years, you always feel challenged and supported and feel important.

Incredibly inspirational, since my first interview with him. The vision of the company is amazing, and my colleagues and I were off-the-walls excited about working here after Eran led our onboarding “vision session” when we first started at the company. He is extremely engaging, makes each employee feel important, and makes those around him want to work our hardest toward our shared goals.

When Eran speaks about Bizzabo and shares in company meetings, about our mission and vision I’m filled with such awe to how he love this company and his belief in the great places we’re heading. The energy he has. You can tell he is passionate, and this flows into everything he does with the company. Even if he does not know the solution to something, he will try his hardest to solve the issue or close a deal. In addition, he is always available for questions and constantly promotes and open line of communication on improving company culture.
He truly values the People here. Lives the culture and values of the company and has high expectations that ALL employees do the same. Ability to pivot the business on market conditions to best position it for long-term growth. Steeped in the data of leading and lagging indicators and makes the best decisions based on the information available.
