Heather Doshay joined Rainforest QA (her prior company) in 2016 where she led the people development, talent, and employee experience functions. Under Heather’s leadership, Rainforest took a data-driven approach that aligns people goals to business goals. Her impact resulted in the Company winning multiple awards including Entrepreneur 2017 Top Company Culture for medium-sized businesses, 2018 Inc Best Workplaces, 2018 Great Place to Work certified, and the inaugural BambooHR Culture Hero Award.


Previously, Heather led the talent team for Hired.com’s west region, growing the team that placed thousands of software engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists in high performance jobs. She started her career in higher education where she founded Women’s Programs at UC Merced and taught leadership at the Master’s level at the University of San Francisco. Heather received a Masters in Adult Learning from Columbia University and a doctorate in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco.

  1. I was first drawn to Heather by the way she articulates and shares new HR and culture trends within the HR community and on Linkedin so freely. In person, I have experienced Heather to be generous with her time and knowledge transfer/sharing by making time for me when I needed it most and she certainly didn’t have to! She is professional, quick, reliable and authentic. Heather remains true to her word. I view Heather as a major asset at Rainforest, she has established herself as a key player within the business and clearly responsible for the high quality and visibility of the excellent team culture there. Heather and Fred the founder at Rainforest set an incredible example to all HR Leaders and Founders who are figuring out how best to organize their people within the organization. It is obvious to me how much they respect each other and it is so heart warming to see!

  2. Heather is one of the most energetic, intelligent, thoughtful, hard working individuals I have ever worked with. She is a model for all in her leadership and management style. She inspires, promotes, engages, educates, and cares about everyone at our 120+ person company. She is also incredibly strategic and forward thinking. While pushing us to consider new ideas and think ahead she is always cognizant of how change is perceived and is sure to listen, get buy-in, and manager the communication of any changes so team members feel informed and bought in. Her ability to delegate and encourage her team members to grow in their careers in genuine and inexhaustible. I’ve learned to be a better team member and leader from her than from nearly anyone in my career.

  3. Heather is a phenomenal leader. Heather is always open to meeting with anyone in the company. She is the reason I joined Rainforest as I saw that Rainforest had such a high culture rating on Glassdoor. When I joined Rainforest, she exceeded all of my manager expectations. She is hands down one of the best managers and leaders that I have ever worked she. She knows how to hold her team accountable without micromanaging. She is also well respected and loved at Rainforest. She is willing to help any team member and I can’t say enough great things about her. She is truly passionate about career development and growth for the entire company. Rainforest is definitely a better place because of her.

  4. Heather is a fantastic brainstorming partner and decision-maker. When you come to her with a problem, she always has an exercise ready to help us come up with and see through potential solutions together. She also is very good about making sure we leave the meeting with a decision and/or next steps. Another strength of Heather’s is her ability to connect with others. She is warm and welcoming, which makes it easy for anyone, from Interns to Engineers to C-Suite Executives, to talk to her.

  5. Speedy, active, and intention. Heather is a servant leader that cares deeply and wants to see everyone around her succeed. Despite her busy schedule juggling work, speaking at events, and traveling, she’ll always make the time to connect 1-1 to coach/mentor others. She also doesn’t shy away from trying new things. She tested remote week for her employer, Rainforest QA, which has become a recurring event for the company.

While I don’t directly report to her, she’s been a great source of encouragement for me as I grow my career at Rainforest.
