When leading multi-channel engagement platform Leanplum announced earlier this year that it would be appointing Kate FitzGerald as President, it was a key endorsement of the then-Chief Revenue Officer's wealth of experience. The company also appointed her a board member. Kate heads a talented executive team while leveraging her strong sales leadership background to drive success across the company’s sales, marketing, business development, customer service, human resources and finance operations.

Kate came to Leanplum from marketing automation software company Marketo, where she served as President of Sales for the Americas. She also held the position of Group Vice President for North American Sales at Oracle Marketing Cloud as well as Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Salesforce Service Cloud. Kate received a bachelor’s degree in history from Stanford University.

Kate is a phenomenal communicator and is able to articulate and tailor a vision that resonates with a diverse set of audiences both internally within a company as well as externally with customers, partners, press and analysts. Kate is a straight shooter who sets very clear standards and expectations and holds her teams and organizations responsible. She also is a terrific mentor and coach and grows people and teams. She has leveraged the combination of pure competence, experience and leadership skills to drive amazing success each time I have worked with her. I first worked with Kate at Siebel Systems where she was a rock star in a fast paced, hyper growth company that created the CRM space. She led sales teams for some of the fastest growing products in the Service, Telco and middleware portfolio closing numerous multimillion dollar deals. Kate then founded and grew the Salesforce Service Cloud global sales team from 40M in revenue to more than a billion. She demonstrated a tenacity and ability to manage a diverse set of very strong personalities including peers and the c-suite to get what her team needed to overcome the inertia of a single product company with an ingrained sales culture. Her ability to execute and resolve dependencies and convince people to do what she needed was instrumental in the success of that product and company. She also recruited and managed one of the best sales teams ever assembled in the enterprise software space. She is currently the President and COO at LeanPlum where she also has a seat on the board of directors. Although, LeanPlum is in a different space, she has leveraged the same ability to lead and drive operational excellence this time across all functions of the company including product and development. She is a customer and employee advocate.

  2. I worked for Kate in several positions throughout my career in high tech sales. Kate drives an organization to grow by leveraging all her team members success. She creates an environment of transparency and trust to a level I never experienced in other roles. Kate would always find the time to help and assist team members no matter how busy she was at the time. She is very intelligent and well-read. With all her industry and professional experience, Kate is still constantly looking to improve her craft/knowledge and help her team members to the same. Her focus is incredible, so she can sort through all the noise to concentrate on tasks that truly move the company’s business forward. You always felt that Kate “had your back” so you wanted to work as hard a necessary to help drive her, and the company’s, agenda. Kate is simply a great person that values her personal relationships and therefor creates and manages teams that will do anything to help her be successful.
