Kathleen joined Sage Intacct, Inc in 2020 as Operational Executive. Sage Intacct is 100% invested in meeting the needs of financial professionals, 100% focused on customer success, and 100% committed to the cloud.

Previously, she was a SVP/GM Sage People Business Unit (SaaS HR & People Business Application) at Sage and before that a Senior Manager Corporate Sales at Proofpoint. Earlier in her career she worked with Biz360 as a Director Corporate Sales.

She graduated from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo with an undergraduate degree in AgriBusiness.

In support of Sage’s vision to become a great SaaS company, for customers and colleagues alike, in January 2019 Kathy Lord took over leadership of Sage People, reporting directly Rob Reid, Sage Chairman Mid-Market Solutions. Kathy’s appointment as SVP of Sage People ensured that Sage Intacct is enabled to make fast, smart and agile end-to-end decisions and respond quickly to customer and competitive requirements. This promotion also maximized the SaaS ways of working that have made Sage People so successful. Prior to her appointment as SVP of Sage People, Kathy held direct responsibility for driving growth and revenue for Sage Intacct through the success of its direct sales organization. She has a long track record of sales accomplishments, regular speaking slots at industry conferences to provide best practices, dedication to continually raising the bar for the Intacct customer community, and impactful plans for transforming the way people think and work to lead the next generation of business progress. Since 2006, Kathy raised the bar for what it meant to lead a world-class sales organization. This goes well beyond the traditional metrics like consistently driving over 40 percent growth and maintaining industry leading churn rates. What set Kathy apart from other sales leaders is the way she transformed the traditional sales process so that it is designed from the outside in to support the entire buyer’s journey. In the world of SaaS, it’s not enough to simply sell a customer once, or even successfully get them live on a new system. When Sage Intacct signs up a new customer, Kathy worked to ensure that customer is successful for the next 7, 10, and 15 years. As such, this drove the need to develop a radically different sales culture, especially compared to alternative solutions within the ERP/accounting industry where over 50-75 percent of all implementations fail. By taking a very consultative sales approach, developing honest and transparent relationships with our prospects, and a customer first approach, Sage Intacct has consistently maintained a 98 percent and above implementation success rate. In support of the holistic buyer’s journey, Kathy also created Sage Intacct’s renowned Customer for Life Program. Kathy designed the program to guide the buyer’s journey once they become a customer and empower Sage Intacct customers to transform the way they think and work by providing them with the right solutions, services, and support, while working together to achieve on-going success. The Sage Intacct Customer for Life program provides innovative solutions based on years of best practices and was designed with a single aim: to accelerate each Intacct customer’s success throughout their journey as an Intacct customer. Kathy not only transformed the way Sage Intacct’s customers think and work but also how Sage Intacct employees think and work. As the high-growth innovation leader in a market with multiple options, it’s the ability to attack the status quo, drive innovation, and create process excellence that has led Sage Intacct to win versus their competitors. With over 40 percent of Sage Intacct employees working under Kathy’s leadership throughout her tenure, she has been instrumental in building the Sage Intacct culture and success that has helped the company achieve a Bay Area Top Workplaces award eight years in a row and Best Workplaces for Recent College Graduates.
