Diversity & Inclusion: Sarah’s ability to foster and develop an inclusive workplace is a key differentiator for Lever in attracting and closing both customers and employees. Raised in Alabama where she was the only Asian-American in her neighborhood, diversity has been something she understood the value of early on. She has built a company with a 50:50 gender balance where 46% of the team identifies as non-white. Under her leadership, Lever has been recognized as one of the top 50 places to work in the United States. Hands-on leadership: In a quickly evolving startup, Sarah rewrites her job description as CEO every few months. She has held roles as interim head of Sales, Product, and Marketing, and never hesitates to jump in wherever she is needed. From jumping on customer and prospect calls, to jumping on a plane to meet with candidates, she is truly a leader in the trenches with her team, and remains accessible to every single employee, regardless of their seniority.
