Piano helps companies whose services are increasingly digital—publishers, banks, and airlines—analyze and optimize their customer’s experiences. Whereas before a company would need data scientists and developers to personalize those experiences and figure out the results, Piano makes it possible for non-technical people to have that power. In 2021, Piano acquired France-based analytics leader AT Internet with a goal to be able to report on any digital touchpoint. Integrating this powerful datastore with a reporting and analytics toolset on top of it allows Piano customers to take their businesses to the next level by sharing insights from the customer journey, aggregating all of their segmentation, personalization, and subscription data in one place, and providing the functionality to support custom data analysis.
Based in Amsterdam, Piano was founded in 2011 as Tinypass and later rebranded as part of its acquisition of Slovak-based paywall company Piano Media in 2015. The company has been part of a massive shift in digital media from being entirely ad-supported to being largely paid. Now, Piano is expanding as an enterprise software company empowering organizations in other industries that also need to grow and serve their customers better.
Piano employs more than 650 staff across 15 offices worldwide, including Amsterdam, Paris, Singapore, Berlin, Buenos Aires, New York, and Tokyo. The company serves a global client base, including Air France, the BBC, CBS, IBM, Kirin Holdings, Jaguar Land Rover, Nielsen, The Wall Street Journal, and more.
