Amy VanDuyn brings more than 20 years of HR experience to Phreesia, where she is responsible for the design and implementation of all talent strategies, policies and processes across the company.

Prior to joining Phreesia, Amy worked in human resource leadership roles across many industries, including hospitality, SaaS and public relations, contributing to the growth and culture of companies at a variety of sizes and stages. Her passion lies in working closely with business leaders to define and implement talent strategies that align with their business goals, and creating environments where people can grow and excel in their careers. Amy holds a BA in hospitality business from Michigan State University.

  1. Amy has done an amazing job of establishing a culture of accountability and ownership within the organization – not only for her reports, but across departments as well. She knows when to provide support and jump into a situation, but also allow employees to remain autonomous and fully execute their commitments. She also knows how to examine a problem from all sides and find the root core of an issue. This has helped our organization grow and scale effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, within any organization that is growing as rapidly as Phreesia, it’s important to revisit past decisions and see if anything needs to be modified. She’s not afraid to own up to potential misses, or note when something that has been done in the past isn’t working anymore. This flexibility and adaptability has allowed us to remain leaders within our industry.

  2. Amy can diffuse complicated situations and distill complex issues down to their core, break them a part to digestible pieces so they can be managed appropriately. She is also able to replicate the exercise so that there is a template for addressing the issue moving forward. This makes for scalable work. Amy is also very approachable – which in a HR person is critical. She comes with an unbiased opinion and truly has both the employee and the organizations best interest in mind while handling delicate situations with dignity and privacy.
