  1. Ann is a great, innovative leader of BirdDogHR. She is driven to make BirdDogHR the leader in its industry. She is also great at building employee engagement. I learn some new from her after each conversation we have. Ann’s contributions in her current role as the VP of Marketing have been instrumental in growing BirdDogHR into the company it is today. She is ever-focused on lead generation and uses her talents to build connections with large partner organizations, creates compelling customer and prospect-oriented events and analyzes which tools are most valuable for the marketing team and BirdDogHR as a whole. All while leading her team, providing training, assisting the sales team and managing budgets. She is quick to bring different departments together to focus what’s best for BirdDogHR, and is always open to innovative ideas from anybody in the BirdDogHR family. Ann’s past roles include Director of Marketing, Integrated Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Manager. She has held roles in multiple SaaS companies in the HCM space and is an expert in the industry. Ann also serves as a Board Member for HCI Foundation, a non-profit organization that advocates for compassionate health care. Through Ann’s leadership, the marketing team has grown by 40% in 2018 alone, with the goal of adding an additional employee to the team by the end of the year. Ann’s focus on inbound marketing has contributed immensely to BirdDogHR’s 30% YOY growth in 2017. She is always working behind the scenes and maintains a pulse on what’s happening at BirdDogHR and with our partners and customers. Ann has contributed to a strong partnership with the AGC of America, visiting with their board of directors frequently throughout the year. When Ann began, BirdDogHR had a little over 500 customers. Today we now have over 1300 customers, thanks in large part to her marketing genius and team-oriented attitude. Having worked in SaaS HCM companies since 2005, Ann’s influence shows. She has secured relationships for BirdDogHR with CFMA, Construction Executive, Association for Talent Development, L&D Daily Advisor, HR Gazette and more to spread awareness about HCM software and solutions to industry-wide challenges. She has also recently spearheaded a philanthropic partnership between AGC of America and BirdDogHR in support of Warrior Canine Connection. Through Ann’s strategic leadership, BirdDogHR has ranked on the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Businesses since 2015, rising over 1200 spots on the list from the first year BirdDogHR received the award. She has also successfully landed a number of additional awards for BirdDogHR, including G2 Crowd’s High Performer, Software Advice’s HR FrontRunners, and Iowa’s Top Workplaces awards. Through her strategic buyer persona creation, Ann’s contributions have helped organizations around the country. A large portion of BirdDogHR customers are small companies in the construction, engineering and manufacturing industries. Many of these folks have never purchased software for their businesses and are completely lost in the highly technical language and selection of software. Ann’s ability to identify the challenges these types of customers experience and deliver easy-to-understand content where these people are searching is hugely impactful to these organizations. In our own organization, Ann is always the first to know what’s going on and develops thoughtful and timely communication plans for the staff. She is a team player through and through, and is always the first and most enthusiastic cheerleader for any new changes at BirdDogHR.

  12. Ann has brought such amazing change to BirdDogHR. When she was brought on, she and I were a two-woman marketing team. She has been a great mentor and really created the marketing strategy that BirdDogHR uses. Her leadership has contributed to BirdDogHR seeing 4 consecutive years on the Inc 5000 list of fastest growing company with over 130% growth. When Ann came on board in 2013, BirdDogHR had virtually no marketing strategy – and all revenue was brought on through partnerships and sales reps making cold calls. Today, BirdDogHR brings in thousands of leads every year and marketing efforts make a big contribution to revenue. Ann’s past roles include Director of Marketing, Integrated Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Manager. She has held roles in multiple SaaS companies in the HCM space and is an expert in the industry. Ann’s dedication to the marketing strategy at BirdDogHR has led to creating buyer personas – really analyzing what drives customers to purchase. This has ultimately led to the company being able to better serve high-consequence organizations across the country with their HCM needs. BirdDogHR wouldn’t be where it is today without Ann’s hard work and I wouldn’t have the knowledge and skill set I have now without her tutelage. As a manager, she encourages our professional development and supports her team pursuing learning opportunities and certification programs to expand our skill sets.

  15. Ann is the best leader and boss I have ever worked for. She encourages creativity and believes in her team’s abilities to execute ideas without close oversight. She is very analytical with new ideas and shares enthusiasm with the team when a great idea is proposed. She has held multiple senior marketing management positions in previous SaaS HCM companies, and knows the industry well. Under Ann’s leadership, the marketing department has grown by 40% in 2018 alone. She keeps a pulse on BirdDogHR customer and partner happenings, and is quick to suggest strategies to capitalize on such events. Ann is extremely organized, strategic, detail-oriented and thoughtful. She is a guiding spirit rather than a demanding boss. Despite her dedication to BirdDogHR, Ann has recently taken on a Board Member role for HCI Foundation, a non-profit supporting compassionate health care. I hope to work for her for many years to come.

  19. Ann Torry is a marketing mastermind. When Torry joined BirdDogHR in 2013, the company had a strong Applicant Tracking System module on the market. In that time, BirdDogHR has added 10 additional modules, countless reseller partners, and joined a new family of companies called Arcoro. Through these transitions, the BirdDogHR brand has grown its market presence and brand recognition, thanks to the efforts of Torry and her leadership. Under Torry’s leadership, the company has maintained a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies for five consecutive years along with receiving seven additional awards in 2018 alone. At each of these milestones, Torry has led the marketing efforts to effectively promote and distribute marketing collateral to the appropriate audiences.

Her expert talents at strengthening the company brand, driving sales with a extremely healthy pipeline, and being the voice for our company are top shelf in every way. Ann can be and is relied upon to DELIVER, and she does, and makes it look effortless. She doesn’t have the largest team, but they work very hard and get results. She is wonderful model for them of an engaged executive with her finger on the pulse of the company. Ann Torry is also a trusted friend and colleague who I often turn to for advice and counsel. Beyond all that, Ann has a huge heart for folks in need and is often found supporting various causes in our community.
