  1. Anu’s key strengths are: Her ability to communicate effectively at different levels: the conversations that Anu has with engineers are different from the ones she has with the Board. One of the key responsibilities of a leader is to bring people together and to do that, you have to be able to tailor the conversation to the audience — whether it is at a 60,000 ft level or a 6,000 ft level. Her eagerness to listen, really listen: This is a corollary to effective communication. Oftentimes, Anu tends to pick up on things that others miss simply because she was paying attention to what was being said, both verbally and non-verbally. Her trust and transparency: Anu treats people as the intelligent adults that they are. Good or bad news, when you are honest with people, I find that they appreciate it and work with you to make things great/better. She’s not afraid to make (hard) decisions: When you’re tasked with creating empowered teams, by definition, any decision that comes to someone in Anu’s position is a hard one — where there is no easy answer. She is aware of and accepts that responsibility. She’s passionate: I think people can see/tell if someone is ‘just doing a job’. Some of the people that have followed Anu over time have said that it is her passion that they follow. They know that for Anu to start/do something, she has to believe in it and when she believes, she will do everything she can to help us be successful.
