  1. Artur Bergman is the founder and CEO of Fastly, where he is helping to deliver fast, reliable, and secure online experiences for companies and passionate communities around the world. Businesses trust Fastly’s proprietary edge cloud platform to accelerate the pace of technical innovation, mitigate evolving threats, and scale on demand. Since Fastly’s launch in 2011, Artur has overseen the growth and development of the company beyond that of a content delivery network into the powerful edge computing platform it is today. Now, hundreds of billions of internet requests a day are served through the platform, and the company’s edge network spans 60 points-of-presence (POPs) around the world, as of March 31, 2019. In May 2019, Bergman brought his company public on the New York Stock Exchange. But while Bergman has built a new modern architecture for the software-defined future of the internet, he has not sacrificed his principles. He has chosen to grow his company values-first, with a focus on transparency, integrity, and inclusion. He and his team are building a kind, ethical, and inclusive employee environment that reflects their diverse customer base. The more diverse Fastly’s workforce, Bergman explains, the easier it is to attract diverse talent and build technology that provides true value for businesses and their end-users across the world. Fastly values privacy and does not exploit its customers’ end-user data. Bergman has also been sure to support a growing number of nonprofit organizations and open source projects, powering them with the Fastly platform for free. In short, he seeks to make the web more beautiful through his work. In Bergman’s eyes, technology isn’t really about servers or serverless; it’s about people. At Fastly, his team never forgets that at the heart of their work is the goal to improve people’s daily lives. Bergman founded Fastly on a strong culture of support and service, and he has remained committed to serving the very best of the internet.
