Ben started the company with his friend Ryan simply to build a great place to work and a good product they could believe in. Investing in his employees has propelled the company’s growth and profitability in the past decade. BambooHR was voted No. 19 in Glassdoor’s 2017 Best Places to Work Employees Choice in the small to medium-sized businesses category; No. 20 on Fortune’s 100 Best Medium Workplaces; and has ranked on Utah Business Best Companies to Work For list from 2013-2017. Therefore, BambooHR not only offers to pay for classes for employees professional development, but also personal and family development. To ensure employees are free financially, BambooHR offers to pay for a nine-week financial course. The employee is also given $100 upon completion of the course. Employees who have taken the course have paid off more than $750,000 of debt and saved more than $650,000 collectively. BambooHR is built on strong family principles, and therefore family relationships and dynamics are fundamental. The company hosts parenting classes offered through Utah State University. Since they began hosting the class at the end of 2017, the class has been completely full all three times, with a total of 70 attendees. One employee remarked, I’ve never heard of a company that genuinely cares about its employees personal and family well-being more than BambooHR.”
