Borya Shakhnovich is the Chief Executive Officer of airSlate. airSlate is a digital ecosystem for automating business processes at any scale. Shakhnovich has over 17 years in the computer software industry. He began his career in 2004.


Before joining airSlate, Shakhnovich was a chief executive officer at PDFfiller and before that a CEO and president at Orwik. Earlier in his career he worked with Boston University as an assistant professor.


Shakhnovich graduated from Boston University with a Ph.D. in bioinformatics and systems biology and from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with an undergraduate degree in computational biophysics.

  1. Concentration and clarity in the vision of goals, both global and local, and confidence in moving towards these goals. At the same time, Boris is opened to employees and every opinion is heard. Openness and honesty with others and with himself in decision-making and workflow analysis. He always remains himself, honestly shares his thoughts and experiences and it evokes trust and a desire to share his values with him. Passion for what he is doing and immersion in how to improve the company’s work regardless of where and in what conditions he is – whether sitting in the office or kitesurfing. Innovation and openness to new, even not obvious or not popular ideas, the ability to feel which of the ways will work better for the company. Stoicism and patience, the ability to accept failures and not deviate from his main goal. Attention to details and a desire to know the process from the inside, not just to observe how the mechanism works. Authenticity and a unique vision for decision making. Good communication skills, the ability to find common ground with both top managers and ordinary employees of the company. 9. He was also a professor of Bioinformatics at Boston University and a fellow in Systems Biology at Harvard University.
