Chris Golec has built three successful technology businesses in the last 18 years. As Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Demandbase, Chris’s mission is to transform B2B advertising, marketing and sales through innovations in digital technology. Today, hundreds of blue-chip enterprises across the financial services, hi tech, manufacturing, healthcare and telecom industries have adopted Demandbase’s B2B marketing platform and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) technology to dramatically improve the way they acquire and grow customers.

Prior to starting Demandbase, Chris founded Supplybase to help global manufacturers collaborate with their supply chain to bring new products to market. As one of the first successful B2B software and data solutions in the late 90’s, Supplybase was acquired in March, 2000 by i2 Technologies (Nasdaq: ITWO). Before becoming a software entrepreneur, Chris held multiple sales, marketing and engineering positions with GE, DuPont, and GM.

  1. Category Creation: Chris founded Demandbase and pioneered the account-based marketing (ABM) technology category to help the world’s largest and fastest growing companies such as Salesforce and Adobe transform their B2B sales and marketing. In the space of four years, ABM has driven marketers to fundamentally change the way they think and get things done and it ranks the highest of any marketing initiative for ROI (according to Alterra Group). Vision and Strategy: Not only did Chris pioneer the ABM category, but his leadership and vision for the company ensured Demandbase grew to become the largest and leading ABM provider in the white-hot martech space. This is evidenced by the company’s leading position in Forrester’s New Wave Report: ABM Platforms Q2 2018. The company has raised more than $150 million in funding to date from high-profile venture capital firms including Sageview Capital, Silver Lake Waterman and several others, highlighting its potential. Chris is a true continuous innovator as one of the few founder CEOs in a later stage company that’s leading its category. Building a Strong, Positive Company Culture: Chris invests heavily in Demandbase’s people and attributes the strong, positive culture he has built as an important reason for the organization’s continued success. Chris believes in initiatives such as weekly town halls to give employees a voice and include them on the company’s journey. Demandbase has been ranked among the Best Places to Work five years in a row.
