Colin Day is the founder and chairman of iCIMS, the leading provider of recruitment software solutions.


After graduating from Cornell University and getting his start as a recruiter at Comrise Technology, an IT staffing firm, Day established iCIMS in 2000 with a vision to deliver applicant tracking software emphasizing ease-of-use and unparalleled customer service. Under his leadership, iCIMS has grown to become the market leader for cloud-based recruiting solutions and has been recognized by Inc. 500|5000 as one of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies for 13 years.


Day maintains a deep commitment to customer needs, leading iCIMS to remain solely focused on delivering a suite of world-class, enterprise products to more than 4,000 clients, including dozens of Fortune 500 brands. With approximately 1,000 employees and more than $200 million in annual recurring revenue, the company is the largest recruiting software provider across mid-market and enterprise segments. iCIMS has also expanded its product portfolio with company acquisitions, including JobMagic, for social recruiting (2012), TextRecruit, for mobile candidate communications and artificial intelligence (2018) and Jibe, to power recruitment marketing capabilities across dynamic, branded career sites and candidate relationship management (2019).

  1. Colin is super passionate and an inspiring leader. His personal journey is amazing as he is the original founder of the company and started the company at age 23. iCIMS has grown consistently and organically since then and is not your typical start-up. He leads by example and is always thinking 5 years+ out like a good SaaS CEO should. He isn’t afraid to admit weakness and encourages employees to do the same. He has created a transparent and encouraging environment for the company.

  2. Truly puts employees first! Not only does Colin ‘talk the talk’ but he ‘walks the walk’. He takes the time to sit with anyone that wants to, to hear them out. He truly has an open door policy and genuinely cares. He has made it his personal challenge for the company to absorb the rising cost of healthcare. In 8 yrs w/ iCIMS, my insurance premiums only went up one time and that was due to adding my child. This is just one example of how awesome Colin, and iCIMS as a whole are!

You always know exactly where we stand as a company, and what we’re focusing on; even as an individual contributor, you never feel like you’re in the dark, which I think is incredibly rare for a company of this size. His energy and passion are admirable, and he’s great at infusing both into the entire company. You can tell he really cares about the company, how it’s run, and his employees.

  7. Colin is a great motivator. I am thrilled to be under his leadership. He is a forward thinker, but never forgets about his employees. The culture he has created is very special. Employees are happy at iCIMS as well as customers. When I was employed outside of iCIMS I always wondered why their clients loved them so much. Now that I work at iCIMS I can see that Colin’s great leadership has led to happy employees and happy clients.

  8. Colin is very passionate about our business and is always looking for ideas about how to improve it. He believes in taking care of his employees. Our healthcare plan is unbelievably good and is covered 100% by the company. Despite it being one of the biggest costs for the company, he continues to do it because he believes it’s the right thing to do. Colin also has an admirable amount of integrity.
