Daniela Braga is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of DefinedCrowd. She first joined the company in 2016. Defined.ai is enabling AI creators of the future, from those building their first boot-strapped models, to those fine-tuning complex AI projects.


Previously, Braga was a director of data science and crowdsourcing at VoiceBox Technologies and before that a senior program manager at Microsoft.


Braga earned a Ph.D. in speech technology from the University of A Coruña, an MS in Applied Linguistics from Universidade do Minho and an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Language and Literature from Universidade do Porto.

Dr. Braga is oftentimes guest lecturer in the University of Washington, USA, is the author of more than 90 scientific papers and several patents.  At DefinedCrowd, Dr. Braga has raised more than $63 million USD, and is the woman founder who raised the largest Series B in an AI company in US. Always looking for the next challenge and to get out of her comfort zone, Dr. Braga has led her company to outstanding achievements in just five years. Dr. Braga has been recently appointed (on June 10th) by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) as a Member of the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource Task Force. The Task Force will serve as a Federal advisory committee to help create and implement a blueprint for the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR). Dr. Braga has also been constantly recognized in several publications for her strong leadership and business growth.
