Jacob Waern is the CEO and Founder of EduMe. EduMe is a mobile-based training platform for the deskless workforce, used by modern companies in more than 60 countries worldwide. Waern has 15 years in the marketing industry. He began his career in 2006.
Before joining EduMe, Waern was a director of digital ventures at Millicom International Cellular and before that a CEO and founder at Rocket Internet. Earlier in his career he worked with Modern Times Group MTG as a project manager.
Maern graduated from Copenhagen Business School with an MSc in applied economics and finance and an undergraduate degree in international business.
Jacob leads by example, and truly embodies EduMe’s key values of transparency, humility & respect. He leads a weekly huddle every week, attended by the whole company, to ensure that everyone at EduMe is up-to-date with all the latest developments. Jacob knows how important autonomy and trust are – every new starter is given a generous budget to improve their working from home set-up, as well as access to an inspiring office space, and then given the freedom to create results in the way that suits them best. EduMe really creates an environment that promotes growth, which then drives the company’s success in turn. We very much practice what we preach, and this comes from the top. EduMe provides each new starter with an annual learning & development budget, weekly learning time, and the space to grow. Every employee is also given a generous monthly wellbeing budget, to spend on anything that looks after their wellbeing, as well as access to a mental health platform – and this culture of wellbeing really does come from the top down, and is something Jacob is truly passionate about.
