Kharen Hauck leads the company’s Demand Generation team, collaborates on Phreesia’s marketing growth strategies and executes campaigns. She also oversees the implementation of marketing technology tools that provide quantitative and qualitative feedback on campaign performance.
Prior to joining Phreesia, Kharen held senior account management positions at both media strategy and full-service creative agencies, specializing in life sciences. She is a graduate of West Chester University.
Kharen is genuinely one of the biggest assets at Phreesia, she cares so much about the organization and the people she works with that she can do everything. She gives 1000% to her projects, developing her team, mentoring others, and just being a great colleague. It is really her dedication that sets her apart from others. Kharen is someone who leads by example in ways I have never seen before. She is open about the challenges she’s faced in her career, which give me, and many others, the courage to try new things and push forward new ideas. Personally, I was introduced to her by my boss at Phreesia in my first week here, and she, in our first meeting quickly established herself as someone I could look up to as well as consider a friend. She’s reliable, always makes time for people, and truly treats everyone from the CEO to the interns with the same level of respect for their ideas and processes. However, that doesn’t stop her from getting things done well and on-time. She is known for her effective project management techniques, and not only being able to implement them herself, but rolling them out in a collaborative way to other teams. This makes her a trustworthy person who the organization consistently relies on to accomplish big, new initiatives.
Kharen is the prototype senior marketing & demand generation executive. Kharen produced Phreesia’s successful NYSE IPO on July 18th, 2019. The biggest event in our company’s history, she made us look like a billion dollar business, though we are a fraction of that size (for now). All internal & external communications, outreach collateral, media engagements, event coordination & board of director itineraries. All on a shoestring budget. I cannot emphasize the total home run she produced for us all. Just check out Phreesia’s Instagram in July’19. Or Google Image Phreesia IPO. Kharen also led our go-to-market strategy for yet another year of >20% YOY revenue growth. She guided sales development scripts, presentation materials, social media presence, webinar content & public speaking engagements. Kharen oversaw >25 early career program hiring fairs @ selected colleges nationwide. 70% of our sales organization was hired through her early career outreach & onboarding programs, helping us achieve record sales efficiency figures & bookings growth. We simply would not be the size or success we have now realized without Kharen. She is my sales organization’s preeminent arms dealer.
Kharen was one of the first people to welcome me with open arms in my new position when I started with Phreesia. She is in a perpetual good mood and helps brighten the day of anyone she interacts with. She is a strong, passionate and intelligent woman who I count myself luck to work with. She always is there to lend a helping hand, a word of encouragement or just to have a good conversation with. I have worked closely with Kharen on many projects and it has been an absolute pleasure each and every time. She is not only extraordinary at her job, but a wonderful person as well. She is kind, caring and approachable. If you help her out in the smallest way, you can expect a thank you in one form of another, whether it be a personal email with an outpouring of thanks or a special gift to show how much your effort means to her. Kharen is an example of what, not only women, but everyone should aspire to be; in the work place, as a leader and as a person.
I have yet to meet someone else with as much integrity as Kharen. From every strategy meeting to every casual conversation, she upholds the company’s values, her team’s and her own. This makes it easy to look up to her with respect and means that she has become someone who’s opinions are highly valued throughout the organization. Kharen’s energy and drive are incomparable, as she works tirelessly to guide us toward our strategic goals and never hesitates to roll up her sleeves to join us in the trenches when the need arises. Her passion permeates the work environment, ensuring that we, as her team, stay motivated with clear goals and are secure in the knowledge that we are supported in trying new things. Kharen encourages to learn from our failures and improve upon our successes so that we can grow as individuals and as an organzation.
Kharen’s key strength is operational excellence. She took over the Demand Gen team at Phreesia a few years ago and gave it a complete overhaul. She implemented an infrastructure to manage and track all the work her team is responsible for providing and set a new standard for holding her team accountable. Before her, the team often didn’t meet commitments or turned away requests. With Kharen, nothing falls through the cracks and that team produces significantly more output at a higher level of quality. We wouldn’t have been able to scale and grow at the rate we have without her. Kharen demands a lot from her team and other functional stakeholders, but she is also great at acknowledging hard work. She will often give public praise or small tokens of gratitude after the team finishes large projects.
Kharen is an incredibly hard worker and team leader. She delivers 150% every day at Phreesia and sets a standard of excellence across the company. I have worked under her on the Demand Gen team for two years and grown leaps and bounds in my role as a marketing specialist, becoming a much more efficient, nimble and strong project manager, thanks to her influence. She is the first to sign on in the morning and the last to sign off, often overseeing more than two dozen projects and ensuring each one delivers on its promise and brings value to the company. Under Kharen’s leadership, our team helped market Phreesia throughout its very successful IPO this summer. She is a dynamite healthcare marketing, sales, business and events professional and without a doubt, a Top Woman in SaaS.
Kharen is a very intelligent & talent leader with a proven track record of managing high performance teams. She can quickly bring cross functional teams together to achieve an important company objective. Kharen is able to balance holding internal teams accountable while being a very approachable and genuine person. She has her unique style which is embraced by all Phreesian’s. Put simply, if Kharen calls you want to stop what you are currently doing to help her and her team out in any way you can. Kharen’s track record in the industry combined with her well rounded approach to inspiring her team makes her the ideal candidate for this award. I continue to be very impressed but the quality and consistency in her work.
I report to Kharen Hauck as an Events Manager for Phreesia. Although she personally has five direct reports, there is never a day that she does not make time for me. She is always responsive and devotes her full attention to anyone she is meeting with. Kharen truly cares about the company and her team. She wants each individual on her team to succeed and is committed to helping develop our careers. She is a passionate person and never does anything half way, always making sure that the outcome is the best it could be. Kharen is a very confident woman with a positive attitude. Our company is growing quickly and with that comes constant change, but Kharen remains calm and always finds a solution to a problem.
I have never worked with someone who is more focused and dedicated to doing things the right way than Kharen. She is fully engaged with our entire team and keeps us operating at high efficiency even though we are a small team. Her organization and awareness means that projects don’t slip through the cracks, and the demand generation team has gotten a reputation for producing a large amount of high-quality content. As a manager, Kharen advocates for each of us and encourages us to develop additional skills in areas we have interest and talent. I’ve worked with Kharen for many years and reported to her for a couple, and she has both made me better at my job and helped me take on managerial responsibilities of my owb.
I have worked with Kharen for over 8 years, and have been consistently inspired by her dedication, hard work, and integrity. Rarely have a I had the privilege of working with anybody as dedicated and committed as Kharen. She has inspired me personally, and many around her, with her commitment, and accountability. She consistently sets ambitious goals and always delivers on her commitments and promises. She can step in to a disorganization and chaotic situation and effectively create efficient and organized process to ensure outcomes and success. She’s a consummate professional, and inspires confidence in all who work with her.
I have worked with Kharen for over 8 years and have watched her grow in her leadership and contributions to Phreesia. She demonstrates a huge amount of accountability and drive through her own style and approach. She has taken on every challenge she has faced with grace and confidence, her team would follow her anywhere because she stands beside them throughout the good and bad. She is someone that leads by example and supports those around her to be the best they can be. She is humble, approachable and holds herself and others to a high bar. You can always count on Kharen to not just get the task done but done well.
Kharen has all the strengths you would expect of a candidate being nominated for this award, but one area I would call out Kharen for specifically is her ability to to lead and motivate through a positive approach with focus on accountability. Kharen is not only capable of contributing at an extraordinary level, but she is able to bring a team together and produce astounding results. I consider Kharen to be someone I would work with anytime, anyplace and am always extremely confident that any project or initiative she is leading in will be wildly successful
Kharen is a fantastic leader – intelligent, driven and personable. She has an innate ability to identify the strengths of those around her and help them maximize their potential and their contributions to the organization. As a leader she encourages development of new skills and provides resources to help improve performance. Kharen never hesitates to do what is necessary to get the job done; she is dedicated and displays a work ethic that others would be wise to emulate. Kharen is more than deserving of this recognition.
Kharen is the VP of demand generation at Phreesia. She is a fearless leader who is willing to take on any task that is given to her. Her confidence in our team, organizational skills and dedication to the company are what drives our team to be successful. There is never a project or request that comes to our team that Kharen doesn’t have a hand in. From managing projects and tasks coming from other teams at the company to facilitating timelines and stepping in when we need help, Kharen is always here to help us succeed.

Kharen personifies leadership and hardwork. As one of my supervisors over a decade ago I learned so much from Kharen, from work ethic to efficiency to being passionate about what you do. Fast forward all these years later and being at different companies now, I can still see the fire that makes Kharen the HUGE success that she is, often emailing me with work-related questions well past midnight, showing her dedication to her job and willingness to do whatever it takes to be the best.
Kharen’s work ethic is extraordinary. I’ve never met anyone in my professional life who works longer or harder than she does. As my previous manager, she set very high expectations for our team’s success, always pushing us to achieve the greatness she knew we were capable of. As a female leader of an all-female team, she also always made sure to advocate for us on the highest levels and ensure our hard work was recognized by leadership.
I can’t say enough about Kharen, we first worked cross-functionally and I admired her tenacity, determination and intelligence. When she offered me the opportunity at Phreesia, I didn’t think twice. Working under Kharen allowed me to see her demonstrate how to lead with integrity and transparency. I’ve truly been made a better leader and I’m able to better manage my own employees after working with Kharen.
Kharen is a masterful leader. She routinely looks at the largest of projects and almost instantly knows how to best break the pieces down to get them done the quickest way possible without sacrificing quality. She then plays to the strengths of her team members (us), parceling out pieces of the project to the right people, pairing some people up because she knows they’ll bring out the best work in one another.
Kharen is great at organizing and managing large teams and stakeholders. She understands and solves complex problems, while helping those working with her succeed. She asks tough questions and works hard to improve performance. I worked with Kharen as an agency partner, and she was a quick learner and strong teammate. She kept her large team organized and on track, which led to a successful engagement.
In a nutshell, Kharen drives results. She is relentless in pursuing better business outcomes. She is intellectually honest about what’s working and what’s not and she is able to be completely committed to overall success rather than committed to specific initiative. This allows her to pivot quickly. She is operationally excellent and a team builder who gets the best performance from others.
Kharen is a super-woman! She works harder than anyone I know, motivates and leads her employees with positive energy, and holds her team to the highest standards possible. Kharen does what’s needed to move the company forward. She isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and learn something completely new, with the goal of making whatever it is totally and completely successful for the company.
No one is better at motivating and energizing a team to rally around a common goal than Kharen. Her work ethic and commitment to achieving results are second to none. She is excellent in explaining the why to her employees and has a terrific track record of people development. If there is a mission to be accomplished, I would want Kharen at the front of the line leading the charge.
Kharen is a capable, driven and enthusiastic leader who is committed to Phreesia’s mission of improving the healthcare experience. She is very good at her job and is always looking for ways to work smarter and better. Kharen is also a mentor to many people at Phreesia, especially to young women, and her career trajectory is great blueprint for others to aspire to.
Kharen is an inspiring leader and master communicator. She has an innate capacity for organization and synthesizing information. Her ability to tease out the root of a problem to be addressed has served her well as she has transitioned from role to role and grown here at Phreesia. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with her.
