  1. “Lauren has an incredible work ethic. She works hard, inspires those around her and always leads by example.” – Cyndi Hoddinott (VP, Financial Partnerships – North America) Lauren’s the SVP, Sales US for Checkout.com and Founder & Co-lead of Checkout.com’s Women’s community. Lauren also leads Checkout.com’s US Solution Engineering functions and continues to be a trusted advisor to global and US-based merchants. She’s previously held positions at Worldpay, Capital One, and VeriFone. Lauren is recognised as one of the leading women in payments, serving as a mentor in the Women in Payments Global Mentorship Program. In December, Lauren was selected to serve on the ETA Payment Sales & Strategy Committee, to help influence, lead and educate on payments best practices, and invent the future of commerce. From the second US-based Checkout.com employee, Lauren has built and scaled the US Commercial team, working tirelessly across sales and solution engineering, onboarding, FP and relationship management. Checkout.com’s Women’s community, which Lauren founded, has gone from strength to strength, evolving from the first ever community at Checkout.com to being the biggest with 225 members. The community builds connections, provides support and enhances leadership skills for anyone who identifies as a woman. Lauren has spearheaded an undeniably extensive list of initiatives to empower women in Checkout.com and the wider industry. Checkout.com’s Women’s Community acts holistically to provide support from every angle, blending internal knowledge-sharing with inspiration from external expertise. 2020 highlights include >>Self-defence classes >>Personal brand & career workshops >>Work/Life balance seminars >>The launch of Checkout.com’s first ever mentorship programme (with 55 participants) >>Sponsorship of the Women in Technology Online Festival Promoting allyship has been another big focus for Lauren and the community this year, running accessible learning sessions and panel discussions for the wider business and enlisting men in events and external equality campaigns. Lauren also has one of the largest group of direct reports (11) in the business and the most of any woman at Checkout.com. 7 of these reports joined remotely, to which she has provided invaluable advice as a long time remote-working colleague.

  2. Lauren goes above and beyond in her role here at Checkout.com, exemplifying our company’s core values of Excel, Aspire and Unite, all while leading a quickly growing team of both sales and solution engineers. She has years of payments experience that she is always willing to share with colleagues across departments, has launched the Women @Checkout diversity and inclusion group, a company-wide mentorship program, and continues to inspire everyone to grow together, learn and be a united team to meet our ambitious goals as now the fourth-largest privately held fintech! I whole-heartedly nominate Lauren for this achievement, as it has been a true pleasure working with her to tackle daily challenges together with her creativity, positive attitude, technical know-how and ability to lead our team towards success!

  3. Lauren has unparalleled knowledge about the payments industry but more importantly knows how to apply that knowledge to solve problems for each customer. Lauren rose up the commercial ladder form Solutions Engineering and so can gain instant credibility due to her command of the subject matter. But she also develops deep and effective rapport with clients by persistently identifying customer needs and adjusting her interactions. Lauren is a strong sales leader both by example and by inspiration. She is able to breakdown barriers and enable her team members to reach their full potential. This is of course all critical to the incredible results Checkout.com has been able to achieve.

  4. In addition to leading a huge team, Lauren: – goes above and beyond in motivating everyone who comes into contact with her – nurtures future FinTech talent by being a mentor both internally and externally – started our first employee resource group (our Women’s community), helping women within our company have a space to connect, share resources and celebrate wins together – through this group she has organised panel discussions, Q&As with female leaders, hosted virtual quizzes to keep us motivated during lockdown and has encouraged us to learn about female STEM heroes. Simply put, Lauren is a rockstar and we’re lucky to work with her.
