Maarten Masschelein is the CEO & Co-Founder of He first joined the company in 2018. Soda is the data observability platform that keeps your data fit for purpose, verifiable and trustworthy. THhey uncover data issues, alert the right teams, and trigger resolution workflows to identify causes that impede data quality.

Previously, Masschelein was a director, global field operations at Collibra.

Masschelein earned a masters degree in business information management from the University of Leuven and a master’s degree in general management from Vlerick Business School.

Maarten’s key strengths include his focus on a customer-first approach to building a product and his insistence on delivering value from the first engagement with an organisation even before they are a customer by making a large amount of Soda’s software open-source. Maarten’s leadership has helped to foster a company culture that brings together the right team of experts to help organisations on their data journey.
