Manny Medina is the CEO & Co-Founder of Outreach. Outreach is a sales engagement platform that accelerates revenue growth by optimizing every interaction throughout the customer lifecycle. The platform manages all customer interactions across email, voice and social, and leverages machine learning to guide reps to take the right actions. Medina has 13 years in the computer software industry. He began his career in 2003.


Before joining Outreach, Medina was a CEO at GroupTalent and before that a director, business development at Microsoft Corporation. Earlier in his career he worked with Amazon.com as a senior product manager.


Medina graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master’s degree in computer science, from Harvard Business School with an MBA and from Stevens Institute of Technology with an undergraduate degree in computer engineering.

  1. I don’t think I have ever worked with a CEO who is so engaged with his entire team (at least in a positive way). Manny has clear communication lines established with his employees, giving us at least weekly updates into strategy and direction. Also he has immense positive energy (and just pure energy), attention to detail, has created an environment that truly cares for its employees, and strives to continually the company culture. I have worked at other companies that have produced incredible products and growth (like here), but the emphasis on overall company culture is best I have seen.

  4. Manny takes time out of his day to greet every employee that crosses his path; he actively approaches individual contributers and teams alike to congratulate them on work well done. When things go wrong, he demands numbers and details, not anecdotes and stories. He is driven by fact, and demands the best of his teams in the name of his customers.

  5. He is super personable! Knows everyone’s name and greets people and fist bumps them around the office. He’s not an executable in a traditional sense because I feel like I’m on a team with him and the entire company — even as someone hired very recently and not in a leadership role. He is also very honest and transparent.

In addition, Manny is always looking to learn and grow, not only high level concepts and research into technology, but also getting down into the weeds in hard areas like Customer Support and learning the nitty gritty of machine learning principles.
