  1. Pieter Danhieux is the Chief Executive Officer, Chairman, and Co-Founder of Secure Code Warrior. His deep background in software security, spanning from his days as a youngster breaking as much software as possible, all the way to instructing the military, government departments and private organizations in offensive security techniques as part of the SANS Institute, helped him see that the same security bugs kept happening, over and over again. He saw that developers simply did not get the training – nor proprietary tools – to code securely, and the repetition of poor coding patterns kept common vulnerabilities wreaking havoc on the world’s software. Together with the founding team, he sought to create a learning environment that would engage developers in secure coding, and give them the skills they needed to make a difference as the front line of defense for their organization. As a leader, he is personable, down-to-earth, and a keen listener. His hands-on approach to running a business helps his staff feel like an integral part of the journey, and on the crazy ride that only a high-growth tech company can bring. His commitment to giving back to others, staying humble, and practising empathy are deeply ingrained in the company culture, and reflective of their ethos to take a human-led approach to solving the issue of common vulnerabilities and creating safer, higher quality code at speed. He also serves as an advisory board member of NVISO, a cyber security consulting company in Europe. Before starting his own company, Pieter worked at Ernst & Young and BAE Systems. He is also a Co-Founder of BruCON, one of the most awesome hacking conferences on the planet.
