Mr. Richard A. Kurland has built his 25-year career with a deep sense of commitment and an innovative spirit. Employment Background Investigations, Inc. (EBI) was created In 1994 shortly after Mr. Kurland viewed and empathized with a national media storyline pertaining to nursing home abuse.

Today, EBI does business in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide with over 5,000 users, and is ranked among the top 20 employment screening companies in North America. Mr. Kurland’s focus on employee empowerment and strategic technology implementation have continued to push the boundaries of industry standards for client service and web-based human resources management tools.

EBI is the only PBSA accredited background screening firm in the world to hold an ISO 27001 certification.
