  1. Sanjit is the co-founder and CEO of Samsara, the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud. Samsara’s cloud platform helps businesses and organizations that depend on physical operations harness IoT data to develop actionable business insights and improve their operations. Under Sanjit’s vision and technical leadership, Samsara has grown to serve more than 20,000 customers across North America and Europe in just six years. He has a deep understanding of how advancements in cloud computing and AI can be applied to traditionally overlooked industries like logistics, manufacturing, construction, utilities and energy. In addition to serving customers and building the company, Sanjit is committed to fostering internal culture and investing in Samsara’s management layer, particularly as Samsara continues to scale rapidly. This year, he developed a new Leadership Principles training program for managers within the organization. This program is a 5-part learning series led directly by Sanjit and the executive team to ensure all managers at Samsara understand how to apply these principles in their daily actions and decisions. Participants in this program learn day-to-day best practices, different approaches to management, activities to build a strong peer network, and more. Sanjit is also passionate about building an organization where dedicated people from a diverse range of communities and backgrounds feel welcome. He believes that the company is dependent on the unique approaches of its team members to help solve complex problems. As an example, 3 of 8 board seats (37%+) and 27% of VP+ positions at Samsara are held by women.

  2. Sanjit is analytical, empathetic, and forward-thinking. Samsara is his second startup (the first, Meraki, he sold to Cisco for over $1 billion). He is able to balance immediate needs of the business, with long-term vision. He’s also consistently rated extremely highly by employees and was named the Top CEO by Glassdoor in 2018: https://www.glassdoor.com/blog/samsara/. Interesting fact: during COVID work from home, Sanjit held (and still holds) weekly Town Halls, where he provides an update on COVID for all employees. He pulls in charts from medical institutions, governments, and analyst firms so that the entire company has full context on what COVID looks like around the world, and within our communities. The updates were so comprehensive, employees asked him to put it on YouTube and said they felt it was the most credible form of news they got on the topic.
