  1. Bin (Tony) Zhao, founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Agora, is a pioneer in web conferencing and videoconferencing applications. Before his time building Agora, Tony was a founding engineer at WebEx (now Cisco WebEx) in 1997 and played an integral role in a small founding team that developed real-time audio sessions for the company. In 2014, in a small house in Mountain View, California, Tony had a vision to make a difference with technology to create meaningful human connections around the world through real-time engagement. He, along with a small group of friends, began to work on the original code for SD-RTN, which ultimately created the real-time engagement (RTE) category we know today. To this day, Tony’s vision and leadership have steered the company to unforeseen heights. In June 2020, Agora listed on the Nasdaq. And today, with the guidance of Tony’s insights and leadership, real-time engagement powered by Agora exceeds 50 billion minutes per month with thousands of customers in over 100 countries – connecting millions of people around the world every day.
