Zach Supalla began his professional career 14 years ago. Today, he is the Founder and CEO of Particle. Particle makes tools for engineers and designers to create amazing new experiences through internet-connected hardware. It offers a suite of hardware and software tools to help you prototype, scale, and manage your internet of things products.


Supalla first got his start in 2007 as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company before eventually rising to sales operations at Groupon, his most recent position prior to joining Particle.


Supalla graduated from Northwestern University with an MBA and from Dartmouth College with an undergraduate degree in cognitive science.

  1. The IoT space is fragmented and nascent, and there are many players operating here. Zach has led from the front, as a thought leader, founder and CEO, setting the strategic vision for his company, and also directly influencing the IoT space, and how businesses and organizations derive value from IoT. As a company employee, I can attest to the inclusive, diverse, open and transparent company culture, Zach has worked very hard to implement. It is incredibly rewarding to work at such a company, and I look forward to working under his leadership and stewardship.
