Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen Is Betting On India For Web3.0 And Metaverse Innovation

As Adobe navigates its path to the metaverse, it is setting its sights on India.

Shantanu Narayen, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, is a strong proponent of the rich talent resources in his home country, where he expects much of Adobe’s innovation to originate. He said he hopes the company’s presence in the country will contribute to its goal of reaching the $10 billion economy mark by 2030, in statements at the virtual 2022 Economic Times Global Business Summit. He also noted that his company is “disproportionately invested” in India, and he expects that trend to only grow with time.

Adobe recently laid out a “metaverse playbook” that illustrates some of the possibilities of the AR landscape, and it plans to act as a content creator for as much of it as possible. Adobe already boasts a partnership with Microsoft on its HoloLens device, the company’s mixed reality smart glasses, and is laying the foundation for a similar deal with Meta, Facebook’s parent company.
