AWS Launches Free Re/Start Training Program In MENA Region To Build Cloud Computing Workforce

Amazon Web Services has announced the launch of its re/Start cloud skills training program in the Middle East and North Africa region in an effort to help unemployed and underemployed people in the region build cloud computing skills and connect them with local companies for employment opportunities. AWS re/Start is a free, full-time skills development program that helps prepare participants for entry-level cloud computing roles. The launch is part of Amazon’s effort to provide 29 million people around the world with access to free technology skills training by 2025 through various programs. The MENA cloud computing market is expected to grow from $14.2 billion in 2021 to $31.4 billion by 2026, at a compound annual growth rate of 17.2%.

Through the re/Start program, learners receive job-specific training on building effective front-line support, troubleshooting, escalation, and task automation techniques. AWS re/Start also provides learners with professional skills, including effective communication, collaboration, resume writing, and interview coaching, to prepare them for employer meetings and interviews. The training programs will debut first in Egypt, Lebanon, and Tunisia, followed by Bahrain in the coming months and additional countries across MENA in 2022.
