Celonis Strengthens Its Data Processing Offerings With $100M Acquisition Of Process Analytics Factory

Data processing company Celonis is expanding its capabilities by acquiring Process Analytics Factory (PAF), a leader in process analytics for the Microsoft Power Automate and Power BI platforms. Based in Munich and New York City, Celonis specializes in process mapping and mining, and after a $1 billion Series D round in 2021, is valued at $11 billion. With its latest acquisition, the company hopes to expand into the Microsoft ecosystem, where PAF is valued for its expertise in process mapping.

Since 2015, Celonis has engaged in strategic partnerships with major companies such as IBM, SAP, and ServiceNow, while also strongly positioning itself in the automated workflow and hyperautomation ecosystems. The company has also acquired Lenses.io, a DataOps platform for Apache Kafka and Kubernetes, and Integromat, a workflow automation and integration platform. The purchase of PAF only cost Celonis $100 million, a high-value investment for the possibility of moving into the Microsoft sphere, where 97% of the Fortune 500 uses Microsoft Office and other tools.
