Du Partners With IBM To Enhance Cybersecurity Efforts

Data security is increasingly a prime imperative for millions of organizations. To cover this growing need, du, also known as the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has entered into a strategic partnership with American multinational technology leader IBM, hoping to harness the New York-based corporation’s security and software solutions for its Digital Trust portfolio and Cyber Defense Center. Based in Dubai, du is one of the two major telecom operators in the UAE, and it is optimistic that the new alliance will help accelerate data security innovations as well as scale and enhance its existing services. The partnership also aligns with the UAE Vision 2021 National Agenda mandate for sustainable digital infrastructure and increased digital innovation.

Ransomware and other cybersecurity threats have become more prevalent in recent years, and cyber attacks plague both businesses and individuals without discrimination. In order to best protect its customers from data breaches, du will incorporate IBM’s wide array of security solutions into its infrastructure. Some of IBM’s security services have already been implemented by du; the QRadar Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) is the cornerstone of the telecom’s Cyber Defense Center. Du is hopeful the alliance will enable the Center to provide greater support and value for both enterprises and governmental entities alike.
