Recognizing the transformative impact of AI on work and daily life, the company emphasizes the need for a skilled workforce in India capable of leveraging AI to solve complex problems and create value. The AI Odyssey program seeks to empower developers to contribute to India's growth by building solutions and showcasing their talents in addressing real-world challenges.

Open to all AI enthusiasts in India, regardless of experience level or background, the month-long AI Odyssey program comprises two levels that participants must complete by January 31, 2024. The first level focuses on educating participants on utilizing Azure AI services to create and deploy AI solutions for diverse scenarios. This level provides access to valuable resources, code samples, and guides to help developers master practical AI skills.

The second level challenges participants to demonstrate their AI proficiency by completing an online assessment with interactive lab tasks, earning them Microsoft Applied Skills credentials—a new verifiable credential validating their ability to solve real-world problems with AI.

Beyond the educational benefits, participants completing both program levels stand a chance to win a VIP Pass to attend the Microsoft AI Tour in Bangalore on February 8, 2024. This unique event showcases the revolutionary impact of generative AI on creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. The AI Tour features keynote sessions, demos, and workshops where developers can learn from Microsoft experts and partners, as well as network with peers.

Irina Ghose, Managing Director of Microsoft India, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "AI is the future of innovation, and India is leading the way with its tech talent." Ghose highlighted the significance of the Microsoft Applied Skills credential in helping developers demonstrate competence and creativity in high-demand AI skills and scenarios.
