Salesforce Joins AISIC Consortium, While Owkin Partners with AWS for Accelerated Biotech Innovation

Salesforce has joined the US AI Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC) to promote responsible AI innovation, aligning with the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. In response to the White House's AI Executive Order, Salesforce emphasizes the need for AI development guardrails. The company plans to actively participate in working groups and contribute to discussions, aiming to bridge the trust gap in AI by fostering public-private collaborations. Additionally, Salesforce is engaging with various stakeholders globally, signing voluntary commitments, and allocating $4 billion from its UK business to support AI innovation over the next five years.

In a parallel move, biotech company Owkin has selected AWS as its primary cloud provider to accelerate GenAI applications for drug discovery. Leveraging AWS's scalable storage and computing capabilities, Owkin aims to empower researchers with efficient data access. Using Amazon SageMaker, Owkin plans to deploy machine learning models and collaborate with research partners, pathology labs, and biopharma to enhance patient health services. AWS's infrastructure, including Amazon EC2 UltraClusters and NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs, enables Owkin to scale up to 20,000 GPUs, fostering innovation in healthcare and life sciences for improved treatments and lower costs.
