Trimble, a leader in construction management technology, has acquired Flashtract, a privately held construction billing software company based in the United States. The financial terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed. Flashtract's technology facilitates the seamless exchange of payment and compliance information between general contractors and subcontractors, aiming to eliminate communication delays and document transfer issues. Post-acquisition, Flashtract's technology has been rebranded as Trimble Pay, which will continue to manage payment applications, lien waivers, and other billing documentation. Trimble Construction Management Solutions Vice-President Lawrence Smith emphasized that integrating these workflows electronically helps contractors enhance compliance, maintain project schedules, and stay within budget by reducing manual work.
Flashtract, founded in 2019, has built a strong reputation for helping general contractors minimize legal and financial risks and improve efficiency. Co-founder and CEO Blair Chenault expressed confidence that joining Trimble will enable further advancement of their technology, ensuring timely payments and efficient management of financial and compliance documents. This acquisition will also integrate Flashtract's capabilities with Trimble Viewpoint Vista ERP, thereby expanding Trimble Construction One’s connected construction technology offerings. Additionally, in February 2024, Trimble partnered with DroneDeploy to enhance drone mapping, showcasing Trimble's ongoing commitment to innovation in construction technology.
