VMware Integrates Tanzu Kubernetes and Aria, Makes Updates to Aria Guardrails, and Enhances ESG Visibility

Cloud computing and virtualization company VMware is integrating its Tanzu Kubernetes and Aria multi-cloud management portfolios to accelerate application development, operate them at scale, and optimize them continuously. The company’s updates to its assortment of modern applications include the availability of the Tanzu Application Platform (TAP) 1.5 and new capabilities for its Aria multi-cloud management suite. Notable updates include Aria Guardrails and an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dashboard. Overall, the updates support the company’s mission to accelerate and optimize the application lifecycle.

The TAP 1.5 update delivers an application acceleration tool that provides predefined templates to support free application developers, enabling them to focus on building and monitoring code. The addition of Tanzu Kubernetes Operations lets IT professionals manage K8s environments at scale. Interoperability between Tanzu and Aria enhances developers’ view of applications and data as well. VMware Aria Guardrails has also been released in beta, and developers have provided positive feedback on its capabilities.

The introduction of the ESG dashboard helps teams identify areas where environmental impact and shareholder investments directly connect. And as part of Aria Operations, VMware has implemented a “green score,” which organizations can use to track their decarbonization and sustainability efforts and progress over time. This gives executives a better view of their organization’s ESG efforts.
