Why Every Business Should Use Everbridge Software

Astute business executives and owners think through the possible events that could impact their ability to operate today and into the future. Whether external or internal, threatening events can be catastrophic if not managed properly. In fact, in most regulated industries it is compulsory that a company have business continuity policies and procedures in place. Fortunately, for companies of all kinds and in particular for those with dispersed workforces or disparate operations, Everbridge provides advanced threat detection, monitoring and communication solutions.

The prevalence of Everbridge across the globe is remarkable. The company’s platform has the ability to reach over 500 million people in more than 200 countries and territories including the entire mobile populations on a country-wide scale in Australia, Sweden, the Netherlands, the Bahamas, Singapore, Greece and a number of the largest states in India. It also dominates the U.S. market serving and protecting 9 of the 10 largest U.S. cities, 46 of the 50 busiest North American airports, and 9 of the 10 largest U.S.-based health care providers. In 2018 alone, Everbridge’s software sent over 2.8 billion messages.

More specifically, Everbridge automates and accelerates an organization’s operational response to critical events. Think of public safety threats such as active shooter situations, terrorist attacks or severe weather conditions. The likelihood of one of these occurrences is unpredictable, hence, over 4,500 global customers rely on Everbridge’s Critical Event Management Platform.

Needless to say, the company has to continuously evolve its technology to keep up with the pace of change in technology and/or tactics that bad actors may employ. Everbridge has been active in acquiring sophisticated technologies. Its latest pickup is NC4, which it purchased for $83 million in early August 2019.

Everbridge CEO David Meredith is bullish on its acquisition, “With NC4, we are adding the industry leader in threat intelligence, making Everbridge one of the largest providers of data for enterprise security and operations in the world,.” David continues, “NC4 offers the most comprehensive threat data in the industry and this acquisition dramatically expands the overall situational awareness Everbridge will provide organizations, from incident identification to response, mitigation or ultimately, avoidance and prevention.”

NC4 President and CEO sees the benefits of combining and further explains the merits of his company’s solutions, “Verified sources and analysis eliminate the noise and enable us to generate the most impactful information while eliminating false positives,” further adding, “It takes the best of both worlds, machine learning and AI-enabled incident collection and human analysis, to generate the most meaningful intelligence. Everbridge’s market-leading platform, the breadth of its offerings, and the experience of its global team made for a natural fit with NC4. We look forward to aligning with the market leader to jointly provide organizations with unprecedented visibility into the threats and incidents that can impact people and business.”
Everbridge is a dominant player in the threat management space and for good reason. With this latest acquisition along with prior ones, it will undoubtedly continue to provide more peace and mind to its customers worldwide.
